All About Me:
My name is Julie Hume. I have two children of my own. My family and I have one cat and two dogs. I have been doing day care since September of 2002 and have lived in the Princeton area for fifteen years. I went to St. Cloud Technical College for my 2 year degree in child development. I just received my CDA in Child Development in July of 2009. I have been working in child care and preschool settings for fifteen plus years. I am a former Head Start classroom teacher/home visitor. I am the president of the Mille Lacs County Day Care Association. I am current in first aid and CPR and I will stay current as long as I work with children. My home is a smoke free environment.

What I have to offer Your Family:
My goal is to ensure each child is treated with the same love, affection, and attention I put toward my very own children. I want to expose your children to a positive, creative, stimulating, and social atmosphere. Each child will learn to develop their own independence, learn a variety of fun learning experiences, to have respect for each other in words and in actions, and help each child acquire a thirst for knowledge.

My day care is run mostly out of my downstairs of my home except we use the kitchen upstairs. I have tried to design it like a preschool but have lots of toys to accommodate all ages as well. The children and I decorate our daycare according to each season and Holiday and try to coordinate crafts and projects for seasons and Holidays as well. I give the children a variety of toys to play with from book tapes to flannel board pieces to lots of hands on games. We also do two to three story times a day with songs and finger plays. I have also designed my own curriculum and I offer Scholastic Reader and the Weekly Readers for the three and four year olds.

Each child is supplied with a cubby to store their things in. It is labeled with their name as well is their coat hook and table spot. I do this so your child can have their own special spot.
