Valentine Tree

Material

  • ~ Small Tree Branch
  • ~ Easter Grass
  • ~ Florist Foam
  • ~ Thread or String
  • ~ Construction Paper

Instructions

  • ~ Find a small tree branch in the yard with lots of "fingers."
  • ~ Stick the branch in a piece of styrofoam, which has been placed in the bottom of the vase.
  • ~ Help the children cut out very small and larger hearts using red construction paper.
  • ~ Place some plastic grass in the pot to cover up the foam. Place some of the very small hearts on the grass to make it look as if the "leaves" have fallen. Larger heart shapes are hung on the valentine tree on strings so they will blow in the breeze as the door is opened or as a child walks by. Thread works better than string for movement of hearts.
