Rind Prints
Materials
- ~ 2 plastic plates or pie tins
- ~ White paper towels
- ~ Paint brush
- ~ Red and green paint
- ~ White paper
Instructions
- ~ Cut the rind from watermelon slices into pieces about 2-4 inches in length.
- ~ Lightly moisten paper towels and layer them on top of each plate.
- ~ Brush one color of paint onto each of the towels to create a paint pad.
- ~ Have the children dip the rind pieces into the paint pads.
- ~ Then press the rinds onto white paper to create a print of a watermelon-or whatever design they choose to create.
- ~ For a finishing touch, place watermelon seeds on the wet paint.
