Pretty Pasta Ornaments

 

Materials

• ~ Wagon wheel pasta
• ~ Red and green food coloring
• ~ Rubbing alcohol
• ~ Shallow containers or bowls
• ~ Glue (liquid, not sticks)
• ~ Yarn or ribbon
• ~ Waxed paper

Instructions

• ~ In advance, dye a supply of wagon wheel pasta red and green. To dye pasta, pour a layer of pasta into the bottom of a shallow container. Cover the pasta completely with rubbing alcohol, then stir in several drops of food coloring. Allow it to soak for at least 2 hours. Dry on paper towels before using.
• ~ Pour a puddle of glue in the center of a piece of waxed paper.
• ~ Make a 6-inch loop with the ribbon and place the loose ends into the glue.
• ~ Put the colored pasta pieces into the glue, making sure that the pasta touches.
• ~ Let the dry 1-2 nights. Then carefully peel off the waxed paper.
