Puffy Cheese & Egg Bake

 

   Serving Size:
1 piece is 1.5 oz meat/ meat alternate and 0.5 oz grain for a 3 - 5 year old at lunch/supper.

 

   Yield:
6 servings

 


 

Ingredients:

4 slices buttered bread
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt, optional
1/4 tsp. paprika
3 egg(s)
2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 1/2 c. shredded cheese

Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish. Cut each slice of bread into 4 triangles. (For a crown effect, place 8 triangles upright against the sides of the dish; arrange remaining triangles on the bottom of the dish.) Beat eggs slightly; add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour mixture into baking dish. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes. Cut into 6 pieces.
