Silly Spiders

 

Supplies:

• ~ Black paper
• ~ Scissors (adult -use)
• ~ Wiggly eyes
• ~ Glue sticks
• ~ White crayons

To prepare each spider you will need to cut from the black paper:

• ~ One large circle
• ~ One small circle
• ~ Eight strips that are 1-inch across, 6 inches long
• ~ One strip that is 1-inch wide and 2 inches long

Directions:

• ~ Have the children accordion fold the 1x2 strip and then glue one end onto the center of the large circle.
• ~ Attach the small circle to the other end of the 1x2 strip, using glue.
• ~ Accordion fold the eight 1x6 strips and glue the ends onto the sides of the large circle to make the spiders legs.
• ~ Add the finishing touches by gluing on 2 wiggly eyes and drawing a smile on the spiders face.

Fun Option: Punch a hole at the top of the spider's body and thread some fishing line through it. Then you can hang your silly spiders from the ceiling.
