Pizza Spirals

 

   Serving Size:
4 spirals is 0.5 oz meat/ meat alternate, 0.5 oz grain for a 3 - 5 year old at snack.

 

   Yield:
48 spirals

 


 

Ingredients:

1 (10 oz.) can refrigerated pizza crust
1/2 c. pizza sauce
3/4 c. (about 2 oz.) chopped pepperoni
1 c. frozen chopped (thawed and squeezed dry) spinach
1 1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets. Unroll dough; press into a 10" x 12" rectangle. Cut into four 6" x 5" rectangles; spread each rectangle with 2 tablespoons pizza sauce to within 1/2" of the edges. Top with 1/4 of pepperoni, spinach and cheese. Starting at longest side, roll up jellyroll style, seal edges well. Cut each roll into 1/2" slices (12 spirals). Place on grease cookie sheets. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove immediately from cookie sheets; serve warm.
