Pita Pocket Pizza

 

Ingredients:

1 (1 oz.) whole wheat pita pocket(s)
2 Tbsp. chunky tomato sauce
1 oz. (12 small slices) Canadian bacon
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Put 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce over an unopened pita pocket. Layer Canadian bacon slices over the pocket. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese. Bake the pita pocket pizza at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Watch after 15 minutes for the cheese to begin to get golden brown. (The longer the pocket is in the oven the harder the bottom of the pocket will be.) Slice the pocket into 6 triangles.


Yield: 1 pizza
Serving Size: One half pizza is 1.5 oz meat/ meat alternate and a 0.5 oz grain for a 3 - 5 year old at lunch/supper.
