Crockpot Chicken

 

Ingredients:

3 1/2 pounds skinless chicken drumsticks or chicken legs
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced or 1 tsp. garlic powder
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

Directions:

Remove the skin from the chicken. Dredge each chicken piece in flour and place in the bottom of the slow cooker. In a medium bowl, stir together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and tomato sauce. Pour sauce over chicken. Cover, and cook on high for 4 hours or low heat for 6 hours. Remove the chicken from the bones and return to the slow cooker. Serve chicken in sauce over brown rice or on wheat sandwich buns.


Yield: 10 servings
Serving Size: One serving (1/10 of recipe) is 1.5 oz meat/ meat alternate for a 3 - 5 year old at lunch/supper
