Fruit Salsa and Tortilla Crisps Recipe

 

Ingredients:

2 medium Granny Smith apple(s)
1 peeled kiwi
1 c. strawberries
1 peeled orange(s)
2 Tbsp. apple jelly
2 Tbsp. brown sugar optional
4 (8 inch) whole wheat flour tortilla(s)
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
water

Directions:

Finely chop all fruit; mix together with sugar and jelly. To make the crisps, mix sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Lightly brush tortillas with water and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Cut each tortilla in to 6 wedges and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, 5 - 7 minutes.


Yield: 4 cups salsa, 24 crisps
Serving Size: 1/2 cup salsa and 3 tortilla crisps provide 1 oz grain and 1/2 cup fruit at snack for a 3 - 5 year old.
