1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 egg(s)
3 mashed banana(s)
1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and shortening together; add eggs and bananas. Stir flour, salt and soda together. Add to the banana mixture alternately with milk until combined. Stir in nuts if desired. Pour into greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan, 10 minutes, remove cool completely on wire rack. Cut into 16 slices.
