Whatever Floats Your Boat

 

Provide the children with a variety of materials to create their own little boats. You can find lots of floatable object in your recycling bin, such as plastic bottles, milk containers, and Styrofoam food trays. Other good boat materials include bars of soap, string, craft sticks, and small scraps of vinyl or fabric. School-aged children will especially enjoy the challenge of this open-ended craft project. When the boats are completed float them in a small wading pool.
