Ladybug Puppet

 

Materials

  • ~ 2 Paper Plates
  • ~ Stapler or Glue
  • ~ Scissors
  • ~ Paint
  • ~ Paint Brush
  • ~ Construction Paper
  • ~ Pipe Cleaner Stems
  • ~ Squiggle Eyes


Instructions

  • ~ Staple 2 paper plates together.
  • ~ Cut off the bottom quarter of the plate (enough so that the child's hand can fit into the shell of the plates).
  • ~ Paint plates red with black polka dots (or another design - let the kids be creative). Paint a large black circle at the top of the plate - where the ladybug's head will be.
  • ~ Using construction paper, cut out 6 legs for the ladybug and glue or staple them onto the puppet.
  • ~ Glue or staple pipe cleaner stems to the top of the ladybug's head for antennas.
  • ~ Glue squiggle eyes on the ladybug's head for eyes.
  • ~ Encourage the children to take this puppet home and have a puppet show for their family.
