Apple Snapple Oatmeal


   Serving Size:
3/4 cup provides 0.5 oz grain and 1/2 cup fruit for a 3-5 year old at breakfast


4 1/2 cups




1 medium diced apple or pear(s)
3 c. apple juice or cider
3/4 c. regular (not instant) oatmeal
1/4 c. raisins
1/4 tsp cinnamon
brown sugar, optional

In sauce pan, mix together chopped apple or pear, apple juice or cider, oatmeal, raisins, cinnamon and optional brown sugar. Cook over medium-high heat until bubbly. Turn burner to low and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
