Heart Bracelets & Necklaces

This cute craft will not only have kids wearing their hearts on their sleeves, it will also promote fine motor coordination.

Supplies:

  • ~ Yarn or string
  • ~ Clear tape
  • ~ Plastic drinking straws-2 per child
  • ~ Red construction paper
  • ~ Hole punch
  • ~ Safety scissors

Directions:

  • ~ Cut a 12-inch length of yarn for each child.
  • ~ Wrap a small piece of clear tape around one end. This will keep the end from fraying.
  • ~ Have the kids use safety scissors to cut each straw into 6-8 pieces.
  • ~ Cut heart shapes from construction paper. Each child will need about 6 to 10 hearts.
  • ~ Invite the children to thread their hearts and straws onto the yarn, alternately.
  • ~ Tie the yarn loosely around the child's neck or wrist to create a necklace or bracelet.
